Kyle has been a freelance sports reporter for nearly four years, since his senior year of high school. His first job came in 2008 with the weekly Citizen’s News in Naugatuck, Conn., where he is now the lead sports correspondent, columnist, and acting sports editor, in addition to contributing frequent news articles.
Two years later, the daily Republican-American of Waterbury, Conn., picked up Kyle as a high school sports correspondent and blogger. Between the two newspapers, Kyle has won over a half-dozen awards for sportswriting.
Kyle is also the co-founder and co-administrator of the Naugatuck Valley League Football Blog, the most popular independent high school football blog in Connecticut, which has over a quarter-million pageviews per year.
He has six years of play-by-play sports broadcasting experience, as well, from high school to his work with the Quinnipiac Bobcats Sports Network and an internship with the Newport Gulls of the New England Collegiate Baseball League. In addition, he has a year of video reporting, editing, and anchoring experience gained through his publications’ websites and coursework.
Kyle is a recent graduate of Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn., and holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism with concentrations in sports studies and history. He graduated magna cum laude with a 3.86 GPA, including a 3.90 GPA in his major.
Home for Kyle is Beacon Falls, Conn., of which he is a lifelong resident. He graduated from Woodland Regional High School in 2009 and still volunteers much of his spare time at the school and around town.
